Recording Finished

Finished my album with boss queen @i_am_hill and I couldn’t be more excited and honoured to have worked with her on this. Now we are friends forever. These last two weeks have been some of the best of my life. I am so grateful.

New Songs

December 2017
Over the next few months I’ll be recording new songs with the incredible @mr_bradsmith at @velveteenaudio and @edmontonestudio. All the unreleased songs I’ve been work shopping and playing live for the last year and a half will finally be coming to real life. I feel so lucky to be working on this with my dream team again (Bill George of The New Haunts @thenewhauntsyeg, Murray Wood of Scenic Route To Alaska @scenicroutetoalaska and co-producing with queen Brenna MacQuarrie @i_am_hill ) Stay…

A Little Vulture Told Me

Recording a single this weekend at Velveteen Audio. I had a look through some older songs I had recorded on my four-track and remembered how much I loved this one. So off to Brad's studio in downtown Edmonton. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

It's Time for Toast & Tea

heavy head, fragile heart

i met you half way, you did your part
search for the floor with pine needle feet
that nightmare you had was disguised as a dream
you put on your glasses with one weary hand
you heard all the things your eyes don't understand
fill up your cup, float out the window
you had an appointment with time, but you didn't show

will it ever cease?
this meaningless crease
in the folding of our sheets
that are stained with love and grief
it's in the whispers of the trees,
the detachment of the…

Ariana Brophy / Sister Ray / Lyra Brown / Trevor Mann at The Aviary

This Saturday I'm on the bill with Ariana, Ella and Trevor at The Aviary. Ariana Brophy is the songwriting equivalent of mulled wine; sweet, nostalgic, perfectly paired with a rainy evening and a fireplace. Sister Ray is the brainchild of Ella Coyes; improvisational, dreamy, and occasionally uncomfortable. Trevor Mann's haunting voice and heartbreaking melodies are a beautiful dose of comfort to curl up to.

Come out and show your friendly faces. We'd love to see you.

Look At Where We Are (Hot Chip Cover)

Recorded a cover of a Hot Chip song at 2AM the other night, inspired by watching The Blue Planet, having a cold that won't go away and the desire to float into space.
